ggg

April 7, 2024

in searching yesterday, GGG (not sure if it is still used) is a usenet/email shortcut for giggle.

bbbeat

BBBeat is apparently an ‘educational game’ for the visually impaired used to ‘train’ them on ‘locating sound sources.’

aaaaaa

April 5, 2024

when i was searching for ‘aaa-‘ words, i ‘stumbled’ upon a ‘funny and self-contradictory’ initialism: “AAAAAA” it stands for Association for the Abolition of Abused Abbreviations and Asinine Acronyms.

like the last two days, wasn’t surprised i had trouble with ‘z-‘ words…

while doing this ‘exercise’, i was reminded of the word zarf. while it originally was used to refer to an envelope, it is ‘more’ used now to refer to a ‘sleeve to insulate’ hot beverages like coffee.

‘loud’-cast

April 4, 2024

been listening to ‘a lot’ of podcasts ‘lately.’ don’t know if it’s just me and now just have the volume ‘louder’, but ‘a fair chunk’ of the ads seem to play at a ‘higher volume’ (sometimes the speakers even ‘crack’) than the ‘main content’ like tv before. true, this has ‘captured my attention’ but it seems to have had the opposite intended effect on me: it annoys me and makes me want to have ‘less to do’ with these businesses. i’m not sure if its true but from a ‘practical sense’, it seems my experoence has been when the volume is ‘louder’, the battery ‘drains faster.’

like ‘x-‘, didn’t come up with many ‘y-‘ words…

in searching for ‘yp-‘ words, stumbled upon yperite, a noun referring to mustard gas…

unsurprisingly, i ‘struggled with x-‘ words.

i previously learned xi for scrabble but i didn’t know what it was – apparently, it’s a letter in the Greek alphabet.
